The Digests' Peer-review process

The organization of the peer review of the GreenFacts Digests is defined in the article 3 of GreenFacts'“Microsoft Word DocumentRèglement d’Ordre Intérieur
(Microsoft Word DocumentStanding Regulation) :

"For each Digest, the President of the SB (Scientific Board) will appoint a « review coordinator » amongst its permanent members, who will supervise the organization and the follow-up of the peer-review. He will ensure that the following tasks have been correctly achieved within a maximum delay of 2 months:

  • Choosing at least 3 "peer reviewers” among the impartial scientific experts in the field,
  • Supervising the peer-review process in collaboration with the GreenFacts editorial staff,
  • Ensuring the comments of the "peer reviewers" are taken into account in the final version of the Digest, which will be produced by the Editor in collaboration with the GreenFacts editorial staff,
  • Submitting the Digest to the president of the SB for final approval.

The scientists involved in the drafting or the review of the Digests must inform the Board of Directors and the SB of possible conflicts of interests.

The final publication of a Digest is approved (or refused) in all conscience by the President of the SB after possible consultation of the permanent members of the SB. After this approval, the Digests cannot be modified without the permission of the President of the SB.

In case the President of the SB has directly taken part into the preparation of the Digest (for example as the Editor, a review coordinator or a peer reviewer), he will appoint the Vice-president or another member of the SB for the final approval of the Digest. (…)"
