GreenFacts Participates in the EU SCALE Consultative Forum

GreenFacts is participating in the Consultative Forum for the EU European Environment and Health Strategy (SCALE) which is examining the environment and health impacts on children. The first Forum Conference to evaluate the results of the technical working groups has been held and GreenFacts has released the following statement.

GreenFacts Conference Proceedings Published

The GreenFacts 2003 Conference, Conveying Science into Policy, brought together over 100 science communicators from across Europe and North America, at the Atomiun on 16 October 2003, to examine the issues surrounding science communication and environmental decision-making. The proceedings and their recommendations were presented to the European Commission in December, 2003 (see the press release) and are available, with photos and texts, on-line.

Spanish GreenFacts website published

GreenFacts is now able to make scientific information accessible to non-specialists in Spanish, including a full translation of its climate change Digest. Visit the website or read the press release.

Membership Campaign initiated

Following the official launch of GreenFacts at the October conference, GreenFacts Foundation has formally begun its membership campaign. The new membership structure will partially meet GreenFacts financial requirements while providing the organization with the means to further develop its commitment to stakeholder dialogue. GreenFacts has added two new staff members

GreenFacts Foundation would like to welcome two new members to its team: Ms Stephanie Mantell has become the Publication Manager and Mr Nicolas Honorato is the Science Editor. Together they will assist in moving forward the 12 GreenFacts dossiers presently in different stages of production.
