GreenFacts is offering Translation internships

GreenFacts is looking for interns (stagiaires) or volunteers, either full-time or part-time, to work on the translation of texts on environment and health matters to be posted online on GreenFacts.org.

A desired candidate should be:

  • Student in a post-secondary institution in the field of translation, trained to translate into Dutch, French, German, or Spanish.
  • Skilled with computers and interested in Web design
    (knowledge of Dreamweaver or a willingness to learn);
  • With a good working knowledge of English;
  • With excellent attention to detail;
  • Interested in sciences and environment & health matters;
  • Capable of effective teamwork in a small but innovative organization.

The experience the interns will be able to gain may include:

  • Multilingual experience: participation in the translation and editing process of clear impartial summaries of scientific consensus documents (in Dutch, French, Spanish, or German), providing explanatory glossary definitions, useful links specific to each topic etc.;
  • Development of Web design skills;
  • Increased knowledge in the science of environment and health matters;
  • Occasional participation in events, activities and conferences on environmental subjects;

Duration of internship:

  • Typically 2 to 6 months

GreenFacts is a non-profit organization bringing together key players concerned with environment and health matters. It publishes, on GreenFacts.org, factual unbiased summaries of reference scientific documents in a language for the non-specialists, aiming to promote science and objectivity in the debate. The Organization is managed by a small team with offices in Brussels located within walking distance from the North Station.
